If you do not wish to have any scene sounds in the app, you can move the slider all the way to the left or choose one of our two scenes that do not include any sound ( Silent Earth or Silent Clouds). To do so, slide the Scene Volume bar left and right to whatever level you prefer. Keep calming sounds on hand at all times with these helpful ambient soundscape apps. You can also adjust the volume of the background sounds in the "Scenes" menu. For example, if you choose '1 hour' and then listen to a Sleep Story, the scene sounds will continue to play for 1 hour after the story ends. If you start a meditation or other type of session with a duration above 0 min selected, then, when your session ends, the scene will play for the duration you choose. This determines how long the scene will play once you exit the app, so if you select the '0 min' option, the sounds will not play outside of the app at all after you exit. ![]() As there is a large number of sounds, we have included the Favorites page where you can add your favorite sounds. You can adjust the ' Play sounds outside of app' option by tapping the duration selector and choosing how long you'd like a scene to play (such as '30 min'). Wakeup Timer allows selecting any sound shipped within the app. Once you've downloaded a new scene, swipe left or right on the home screen image to change your current scene. Simply scroll through the scene options provided and tap any that you would like to download. In the Scenes menu, you will see our background scene options. Listen carefully for where the bass provides the most boom texture while keeping details like speech and instruments balanced. Think of the sound travel as a feedback loop-what you’ll hear from the ground is equivalent to your seated position. Drop down on all fours and keep your head a knee’s length from the floor as you move around your room to experience the audio from different positions. Next, place your subwoofer on your primary listening seat, whether that’s a spot on your couch or chair. First, pull up a familiar bass-heavy song. If you don’t have access to a suite of audio measurement tools, you can still get your sound properly dialed in using the crawl test. But, in an “ideal” setup, you want the sub to blend in with the overall noise. Sound is subjective-you may prefer boomier audio or exceptional clarity in mids and highs, which is fine. This is not ideal for every room layout, because the corner can be too far from an optimal listening area or rattle off of nearby objects. You can combine and blend any of 16 different soundsincluding rain, thunder, wind, the sound of a train on train tracks, the crackling of a fireplace, a fan, summer night (think crickets), pink noise, and brown noiseto create a personalized soundscape that helps you focus or relax. Many people are quick to place their subwoofer into a corner by default to both keep it out of the way and increase the subwoofer’s volume. Theoretically, it can be placed anywhere in the room and drastically punch up your sound. This omnidirectional speaker emits sound in all directions. The subwoofer is responsible for handling the low-frequency bass sounds, which create deep booms and rumbles (think explosions or the acceleration of a car engine).
